Meet Dylan Sadiq, a talented artist who creates stunning artwork out of hundreds or thousands of cubes. As a Biomedical Engineering graduate from Rutgers University, Dylan uses his engineering knowledge to create intricate designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also a testament to his skills as an engineer. His passion for sports is reflected in his work, as he loves creating headshots of professional athletes, a task that he finds challenging and rewarding. Today, his supporters know him as The College Cuber!
Beyond his work, Dylan is a proud first-generation college graduate who grew up in a low-income household. His personal experiences have shaped him into the person he is today, instilling in him a strong work ethic and an unwavering desire to pursue his passion. Dylan’s goal as an artist is to spread love and joy through his work while also achieving financial stability for himself and his family.
My artistic style is quite unique as I create my artwork out of cubes. When I was just 10 years old, I made a bet with my older brother to see who could solve it first, and that’s when my love for these puzzles began. Little did I know that this would be the start of my passion for cubes and ultimately, my career as an artist.
While studying engineering at Rutgers Univeristy, I discovered that my cube solving skills could be applied to creating intricate designs and patterns with the cubes. I saw my artwork as a perfect piece of engineering – I was presented with a problem, and my job was to imagine, design, and create the solution to that problem.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, a large portion of my college education was affected, which was very frustrating. However, I refused to let this setback stop me from pursuing my passion. I started planning at-home engineering projects to keep my hands-on education going, and this is when I discovered the demand for my cube art on social media.
My inspiration for my artwork comes from a variety of sources. I am inspired by the unique challenges and limitations presented by the cube, and the endless possibilities for creativity it offers. I am also inspired by the feedback and encouragement I receive from my followers on social media, who are constantly pushing me to push the boundaries of what’s possible with the cube.
Overall, my artistic style is all about pushing the limits of what’s possible with the cube, while using my engineering skills to create unique and intricate designs that are both visually stunning and technically impressive.
I’ve been truly blessed to share my cube art with the world and see it recognized by professional sports teams. It all started when they simply asked to share my work on their social channels, which left me feeling amazed and grateful.
The thrill of creating my artwork during live sporting events has been an experience beyond compare, especially when fans, especially kids, get involved in the creative process. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to capture the energy and excitement of game day in my artwork.
To date, I’ve had the opportunity to work with amazing organizations like the NBA, New York Mets, Tennessee Titans, San Jose Sharks, Brooklyn Nets, Manchester United, US Open, and so many more! In addition to working with professional sports teams, I’m always excited to collaborate with individuals and organizations on unique events, such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, college events, and corporate events. It’s an honor to share my art with such a wide audience, and I’m constantly exploring new ways to bring my cube art to life. This journey has been amazing so far, and I’m grateful for every moment and every person who has supported me along the way!
I strongly believe that our background and environment shape who we are as individuals. I am proud to say that I grew up in a low-income household with a single mother who had immigrated to the US from a farm in Trinidad. Life was not easy for us, but my upbringing taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. I am grateful for everything I have and have always worked hard to achieve my goals.
In May of 2022, I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, ranking in the top 5% of my class. Many would say that I had a bright future ahead of me and it would be unwise to give it all up to pursue a career in art. However, I have managed to combine my passion for sports, business, and engineering into a unique form of art that is now admired by people all over the world.
As an artist, my goal is to spread love and joy through my work while also being able to financially support myself and my family. I am always looking for ways to grow and improve, both as an artist and as a person. My background and experiences have taught me to never give up on my dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem.
Welcome to my world of cube art, where engineering and creativity unite.
